Safeguarding Adults

This course is designed for those who support adults in a care setting

We will explore what safeguarding is, specifically focusing on adults. We will focus on a person centred approach, looking at how to ensure an adult in care retains their independence and how to empower them to be in control of their own lives as much as possible while still protecting them from harm. We will look at who may have care and support needs and where adult safeguarding duties will apply.

We will look at the relevant legislation for adult safeguarding, what rights and responsibilities individuals have, what obligations the law places upon individuals and organisations and how the legislation keeps people safe. We will support attendees to identify the different categories of abuse, what may constitute an offence and how to recognise, respond to and report any safeguarding concerns.
